My Background in Education

I'm an educator and an advocate. I have spent my career in education advocating on behalf of teachers and students. Through these roles, I have acted as an administrative leader who has led various cohorts of teachers and developed curricula suited for students with diverse learning interests and needs. I am passionate about shifting the conversations around equitable schooling practices, and making the experience more inclusive for children who learn and think differently, especially children who are seen as minorities due to income, race/ethnicity, and ability.

CAMPUS DEAN

I've successfully led a team of over 25 teachers and 200 students for over three years. Through collaborations with staff, parents, and school leadership I was able to achieve academic successes, and also bolster the spirit of the school community.

ACADEMIC COORDINATOR

I've led several teams of instructors and students at Duke University's Talent and Identification Program (DUKE TIP) and Paul Quinn College’s Early Talent Identification Program (ETIP). During these roles, I acted as the academic leader responsible for curriculum implementation and rigorous development of student engagement and learning.

FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

I'm the Founder and Executive Director of the Westwood School’s Olympia Summer Academy. This program is a collaboration between The University of Texas as Dallas and the faculty of the Westwood School. I led this program from its pilot phase to its current 3rd through 11th-grade offerings. Olympia provides students a unique opportunity to develop their talents through interdisciplinary studies and project-based explorations.

EDUCATOR

I've spent over a decade in classrooms internationally and locally working in charter, public and private schools; teaching and mentoring K-12 students and teachers. I have taught Caribbean History and English Language Arts in Grenada, Language Arts in Irving, Texas, and World History and Language Arts in Dallas, Texas. I have also served as an adjunct faculty responsible for teaching and mentoring college students who were studying to become educators. My work in higher education continues as an assistant professor in graduate programs and in faculty development.

Testimonials

I had the benefit of working with Caroline from 2017-2020 at The Westwood School in Dallas, Texas. As the Dean of the Lower School, she quickly became my mentor while I served as a Lower Elementary teacher and an Academic Coordinator. She is a robust and powerful example of what it means to be a servant leader. She is an exceptional role model for each person she has the opportunity to guide. She has a fierce way of inspiring others to reach their full potential in their greatest aptitude. Her passion, creativity, confidence, and expertise in many areas are what makes Caroline such a talented, servant leader!
